Learn to Crochet (2nd of 2 evening workshops)

More Details

This workshop is designed for the complete beginner, so if you have ever yearned to pick up a hook and yarn and learn to crochet then come and join us for these two evening sessions.
The workshop will be run by Julie Ferguson of Mr Darcy’s Cottage, who as well as knitting for Rowan and Patons, designs her own range of scarves, shawls, wraps, hats, bags and baby wear!

So with Julie’s expert teaching and guidance by the end of these two evening sessions you will have the have learnt the following basic skills …
• how to hold your hook and yarn
• how to create a chain
• how to work a foundation row into the chain
• how to make slip stitches, double crochets and trebles
• how to create granny squares

All of these skills can be used to make the gorgeous cotton bag shown above!
For the workshop, we will be using Brittany Birch hooks, which are soft and smooth to the touch, and double knit weight cotton yarn, which is an easy yarn on which to learn.

A hook and yarn will be available for you to buy for £6.00 at the workshop, or if you already have hooks then do bring them along – and then just pay £3.00 for yarn. Other yarns and hooks will be available to purchase on the day

(This is the second of 2 evening workshops. The second date is on the 10th of May 2012. The price quoted is for the 2 half days)
