The Small print....
Booking a Workshop.
If you would like to book a place on a workshop please send us an email via the 'contact us' page detailing which workshop you are interested in and how many places you would like to reserve.
Your booking will be confirmed only once the payment has been received in full.
Unfortunately we are not yet able to take payment on-line or electronically. You can dig out your cheque book and send us a cheque or call us and transfer money into our account.
Cheques should be made payable to BTCworkshops and sent to:
Bay Tree Cottage, Maidford road, Farthingstone, Towcester, Northants, Nn12 8HE.
Once payment is received your booking will be confirmed.
When you make your booking, please advise us of any dietary requirements you may have. A comprehensive requirements list and detailed itinery will be sent to you a minimum of one week before the workshop takes place.
Cancellation
If you need to cancel your booking, we require 10 days notice in order for you to receive a refund (less £3.00 administration charge) or transfer your booking to an alternative date.
We are very sorry but there can be no refund if less than 10 days notice is given, but you can send someone in your place if you let us know their details before the start of the workshop.
Sometimes, due to circumstances out of our control, workshops may need yo be cancelled or postponed. We will always try give as much notice as possible to the contact email or phone number you provide and will offer a full refund or transfer of your booking to another workshop, space permitting.
New Venues
In 2011 we will continue to work with The National Trust at Canons Ashby House, where in 2010 we held a number of sucessful courses.
We have also started running day and evening workshops with Bell Plantation in Towcester a fabulous Garden and Country Living Centre.
New Faces
This year we have expanded the range of courses for you to choose from and are pleased to welcome some new tutors, all of them are experts in their field and promise to run some truely inspiring workshops.
Bert Manton- Rural Crafts
Bert taught Rural Science for fory years, thirty three of which were spent at William Parker School in Daventry. His love of the countryside started as a young man and he spent many happy holidays working on the land. Bert lists three people as his inspiration and mentors, Charlie West a fith generation Hurdle maker, Fred Lambert Head of Rural Crafts at Worcester Teacher Training College and Alec Coker who took up staw work in the 1980's after he retired and became a leading light in that field.
Julie Ferguson- Mr Darcy's Cottage
Julie started knitting when she was six and is still knitting and pearling nearly fifty years later!
Her first business 'Scallywags' designing and knitting outfits for babies and children was started whilst bringing up her own young family and teaching.
Two years ago Mr Darcy's Cottage was born, as well as knitting for Rowan and Patons Julie designs her own range of scarves, shawls, wraps, hats, bags and baby wear as well as creating bespoke items of wearable art! Julie has had many of her patterns published in knitting magazines in this country and across Europe.
Sarah Hollowell- Goody's Cake Company
Sarah started cooking as a small girl with her Grandmother at weekends. After Completeing several cordon bleu cookery courses, cooking for private parties, ski companies, luxery yachts, London based catering company Absolute Taste and the F1 Maclarens team Sarah's love of baking and sugar craft propelled her into starting Goody's cake Company in 2006. Named after her beloved Grandmother Sarah Goodall, known as Goody.
