More Details

The herbs and spices from our kitchen garden or cupboards impart not just flavour, but health and disease prevention: rosemary benefits the memory, lemon balm soothes nerves, turmeric is anti-inflammatory and sage aids sore throats. You won’t believe what’s at your fingertips!

So come and join us for this half day workshop and discover how to identify the many healing herbs that you can grow in your Kitchen Garden, and learn how they can be used to promote your wellbeing or treat specific health issues.

The workshop will be run by Sara Southgate, a naturopath and herbalist with over a decade’s experience of working with natural remedies. She passionate about natural health and growing organic herbs and vegetables and runs a busy practice in Leamington Spa, where she lives with her husband, two young children and their dog.

The morning will start with a taster session where Sara will show you how to make a herbal infusion. Then, with all the theory and information delivered, we will don our wellies and take you for a walk around the Kitchen Garden and the Plant Nursery at Bay Tree Cottage so we can identify the herbs in situ!

Returning to the classroom, Sara will show you how to make your own herbal tincture to treat respiratory conditions like colds or flu, or reduce stress, cleanse the body or for use as a general tonic. You will finish the workshop by using the herbs that you have gathered to make your own tincture to take home with you.
