Traditional and Rural Crafts
From soap making to indigo dying, bee keeping to stained glass, our extensive range of craft workshops will help you rediscover the homespun crafts of your grandparents’ era!
Working with a range of country craftsmen (...and women), our tutors are true experts in thier field and keen to pass on thier knowledge to others! They will work with you to master some time-honoured skills to keep our traditional country crafts alive!
Unless otherwise stated, timings for all workshops are as follows:
One day workshops - 9.30am to 3pm (includes homemade lunch and refreshments through the day)
Half day workshops - 9.30am to 12pm (includes homemade cake and refreshments)
Evening workshops - 7pm to 9pm (includes homemade cake and refreshments)

Peg Loom Weaving

£75.00Peg looming is an ancient form of weaving and its beauty lies in its sheer simplicity! It is an ideal way to use up all those odds and ends of yarn and fabric and the finished article can be used as mats, rugs, cushions, bags, scarves and wall hangings. The workshop will be run by textile expert Julie Ferguson who will show you how to master this traditional craft and produce your own wonderful piece of weaving to take home. -
