Discover what’s happening in March at Bay Tree Cottage

Spring is fast approaching and, as we say goodbye to winter and hello to (hopefully) warmer weather, the changing season is a great time to try a new hobby, learn a new skill or just do something different for fun!

Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

Floristry for Beginners – Thursday 1 March, 9.30am-3pm (£95pp)
If you love flowers but just don’t know where to start, then this one day workshop will give you the skill and confidence to begin flower arranging.

Curry Club (Biryani Banquet) – Friday 2 March, 7-9pm (£24.50pp)
Learn how to make a Hyderabadi Biryani Banquet including papadums, vegetable biryani, kadhi, raita, kachumber and paratha!

A Vegan Easter – Saturday 3 March, 10am-2pm (£55pp)
Perhaps there’s a vegan in the family, perhaps you’ve decided to eat less meat or even taken the plunge and become vegan; whatever the reason this session is just for you!.

Easter Chocolates and Homemade Easter Eggs – Tuesday 6 March, 7-9pm (£22.50pp)
Join us for this evening cookery demonstration and learn how to create a selection of scrumptious Easter chocolates and homemade Easter eggs to spoil your friends and family this year!

Craft Night (Bath Bombs) – Wednesday 7 March, 7-9.30pm (£24.50pp)
Learn how to make and decorate your own bath bombs using a variety of household ingredients and essential oils. Homemade supper included. Also suitable for children age 12+ (a place must be booked for both child and adult)

A Passion for Pasta with Carmela – Thursday 8 March, 9.30am-3pm (£75pp)
Spend the day with Carmela Sereno Hayes cooking simple, inexpensive, flavoursome dishes using good quality seasonal ingredients.

Gluten Free Bread & Pastry – Friday 9 March, 9.30am-3pm (£75pp)
Gluten free cookery expert Adriana Rabinovich will show you how to make light, crusty, tasty, bread and delicate pastry which you won’t believe is gluten free!

Printmaking without a Press – Tuesday 13 March, 9.30am-3.30pm (£95pp)
Northampton artist and printmaker Iain Hodgkinson will share his style of creating woodcut and lino prints involving mixed media backgrounds.

Traditional Upholstery – Tuesday 13 March, 10am-3.30pm (£75pp)
Learn how to breathe new life into your cherished furniture or vintage find!

Speciality Bread – Wednesday 14 March, 9.30am-3pm (£75pp)
A busy hands-on day of baking including a braided stuffed loaf, a contemporary-looking Fougasse, a sweet or savoury flavoured bread, plus a few other specialities from the Bay Tree Cottage kitchen.

A Cutting Garden – Thursday 15 March, 9.30am-12pm (£45pp)
Discover how to design and create your own cutting garden, which can be as large as an allotment or, if space is limited, a selection of pots and containers.

Stained Glass (Leaded Panel) – Friday 16 March, 10am-3.30pm (£120pp)
Professional stained glass artist Anna Conti will help you create your own beautiful stained glass A4 abstract hanging panel or small window, using traditional techniques unchanged for years.

Wedding Flowers – Saturday 17 March, 10am-3.30pm (£95pp)
During this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to create a range of bouquets, posies, buttonholes and corsages in a variety of styles, plus inspirational ideas for pew ends, chair backs and table decorations.

Festive Easter Bread Making – Thursday 22 March, 9.30am-3pm (£75pp)
Traditional Hot Cross Buns, Polish Babka, Greek Tsoureki Easter Bread and a Russian Kulich …learn how to bake them all!

Baking for Easter (Cakes & Biscuits) – Friday 23 March, 9.30am-12.30pm (£45pp)
Create a wonderful selection of festive goodies, from simnel cakes and hot cross buns, plus plenty more sugar and spice for the Easter weekend!

Easter Baking for Primary School Children – Friday 30 March (£20 for 1 adult and 1 child)
Join us with your little one for a morning or afternoon and make some festive Easter treats. Bring an additional child for just £5
