Spring Foraging Day at Bay Tree Cottage

Sunday 13 May, 10am-3.30pm (£95pp)
Only 12 spaces available
Expert forager Geoff Dann is returning to Bay Tree Cottage on Sunday 13 May for an informative and inspirational day of spring foraging.

The Northamptonshire hedgerows and wooforagingdlands are bursting with delicious spring plants, but you need to know what’s edible and what’s not! Our foraging day starts with a brief introduction and look at how to identify some of the plant groups we will be foraging for including wood sorrel, wild garlic, hogweed shoots, common nettles, chickweed, hairy bittercress, cleavers, new hawthorn and beech leaves. Geoff will also cover those to avoid including Lords & Ladies, foxgloves, common ragwort and hemlock water dropwort.

It will then be time to don our wellies and head out to start foraging! We’ll stop for ‘elevenses’ and, after we have completed our foraging, return to Bay Tree Cottage for a late lunch, which will hopefully include some of our foraging finds, and a final chance to ask Geoff any unanswered questions, ensuring you leave fully equipped and confident to continue your foraging when you get home.
