The first truly seasonal fruit of the year, Seville oranges are only in season for just a few weeks so, unless you put a batch in the freezer, you have to seize the moment to make your homemade marmalade! Learn how to justice to this zesty fruit and join us for this hands-on half day workshop and we will show you all the techniques, demonstrate various methods and share a few great shortcuts to create your own Marvellous Marmalade!
This workshop will be run by Jenny Dicks who enjoys making a wide selection of preserves throughout the year. Jenny will share her enthusiasm and expertise to show you how easy and rewarding making your own homemade marmalade can be! Using everyday equipment and low cost ingredients, making this traditional and favorite breakfast preserve won’t cost you a fortune. And it will taste so much better than a jar brought from the supermarket! Plus it can make an excellent gift for family and friends, and is always a top favorite at the village fete!
During the morning, with the kitchen filling with wonderful aromas, we will make a traditional bitter Seville Orange Marmalade, plus a few more unusual recipes! And with some homemade bread fresh from the oven, you will get to sample them all too! Once you have mastered the art of making marmalade, you can be a little more creative with your ingredients, using a variety of different fruit, a dash of alcohol and a few added spices and flavours!
The number of attendees for this morning will be limited to 10 people.
