Heidi Street-Ward

Heidi Street-Ward is a professional textile artist and specialises in making felt and was originally introduced to the magic of turning wool fibres into a matted woollen fabric at school in the 1980’s. Heidi continued to explore this exciting art form through a textile degree course in 1996 at Manchester Metropolitan University, which was followed by a PGCE Secondary Art teacher training course at Homerton College, Cambridge. This enabled Heidi to gain valuable practical experience and knowledge of teaching Art within secondary schools.

Heidi has since concentrated on creating her own practice as an artist and has undertook many artist residencies within schools and has run felt making workshops within adult education, Borough Councils, Museums and for people with learning difficulties / disabilities within the community.

Heidi exhibits with the Northamptonshire Guild of Designer Craftsmanand at Northamptonshire Open Studios Event.
